Singer and composer Deep Shrestha has been honored with ’50 thousand and a rupee’ including ‘Bindabasini music sadhana-2074′ award for his contribution in Nepali music for over 4 decades.
Shrestha was honored at nomination event of ‘Bindabasini music sadhana-2074’and ‘Bindabasini music sadhana-2074’ organized by Bindabasini Foundation at Nachghar, Jamal on Saturday. In his honor, singer Azar Jangam performed some of his evergreen songs.
9 music journalists who contributed more than a decade to Nepali music through journalism were honored in the same program with Bindabasini Music Award for Journalist.
Journalists who were awarded during the event are Dhurba Lamsal , Bishnu Prasad Gautam, Pratima Shrestha, Anupa Shrestha, Rita Limbu, Madhu Shahi and Jiwan Parajuli were awarded with this year’s journalism award along with Nrs 5,000 reward. President of Bindabasini foundation, Lina Sharma Regmi, with journalist Suman Kharel and Bidur Giri presented the awards.
5 final nominees from 32 categories, including Modern, Folk, Pop, Patriotic, movie songs, Music video, etc of ‘8th Bindabasini music sadhana- Award ’ organized by Bindabasini foundation were announced at the same event. The award event is scheduled for upcoming Poush .
President Lina Sharma Regmi also provided an aid of NRs 50,000 to singer and musician Purna Gurung, who has lost both his kidneys.
